Serena Katz
Before graduating from WAAPA - Music Theatre, Catherine studied Classical Voice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Whilst at the Con, she toured Europe as a member of the elite Chamber Choir, where they won several awards including first place in the Vienna Youth Music Festival. She also completed the Singer, Dancer, Actor course at NIDA.
Last year, Catherine appeared in Jerry Springer the Opera, alongside David Wenham, at the Sydney Opera House. Prior to this, she toured Australia and New Zealand with Priscilla Queen of the Desert - The Musical, as Diva Swing. The Divas won the 2007 Green Room Award for best Featured Ensemble.
Catherine has also appeared in the World Tour of Cats (Really Useful Group), playing the dual roles of Jellylorum/Griddlebone, and understudied and performed the role of Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof (TML Productions), alongside the legendary Topol. In 2008, Catherine won the Short Sweet + Song award for Best Actress for her performances in The Pretty Girl and The Road to Bethlehem.
Catherine has been a vocalist and dancer at numerous events including The Helpmann Awards, Hats Off, Carols in the Domain and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. She is also a featured artist on Hayden Tee’s live album Generation whY?. Television credits include Brides of Christ, The Morning Show and Mornings with Kerri-Anne.
