Tim seemed destined for a career in which music would play a large part. As a child he played the cello and piano, and sang. He couldn't get enough and continued to learn any instrument he could get his hands on: flute, euphonium, guitar, bass, whistles and even the bagpipes!
Graduating from the University of Southern Queensland in 2005, Tim has worked extensively for Brisbane’s professional theatre companies. In 2008 he was Queensland Theatre Company’s Emerging Artist. For QTC he appeared in The Importance of Being Earnest, Rabbit Hole and The Exception and the Rule, and for La Boite Theatre Company in The Year Nick McGowan Came to Stay. In independent theatre, his productions include The Awfully Big Adventures of Peter Pan (Harvest Rain Theatre Company), Zooillogical (Forward Movement/Queensland Arts Council), Much Ado About Nothing (4MBS), The Reunion, Love Song Dedications and Donna's Party (Metro Arts), idotluvdotu and Hermes and the Naked Flame (QAC) as well as the National Play Festival (2008 & 2010) and the Queensland Premier's Drama Award.
Tim won Best Actor in 2009’s Short & Sweet Festival - Brisbane, for his work in Mandragora. He was also part of the script development of a new musical, Suddenly Single.
In 2009 Tim filmed the independent feature, Dartworth. His short film credits include Cowboys, Stars & Angels, Cravings, Stolen Honour and Tunnel Vision (QPIX - for which he won the QNFA Best Actor Award), Myles West (48 hr Short Film Festival – for which he won Best Actor) and Tightrope (RACQ/Qld Police).
He has been an active member of the Society of Australian Fight Directors Inc. as current Vice-President and is a proud member of Equity.
With music a major part of his life and career, Tim’s thrilled to be using those skills to play Schlomo in this production of FAME.
